“Good and relaxing environment”

Great customer service and friendly staffs. Spacious rooms. The location was really calm and relaxing very closed to a beach with breathtaking views. Food was good at the restaurant but there could have been different varieties each day. Overall nice experience.

The apartments are spacious and clean. The bar staff friendly and helpful. The female reception staff indifferent and at times, rude. The pool are is nice although the sun beds are very close together. The pool itself is absolutely freezing. To the point we just didn't get in it again. Who wants to sit I the sun with a baltic outdoor pool. The building has a few blocks , it is a walk to go to the beach. It is a beautiful beach and a beautiful beautiful area. But there is alot of walking. There is a local tourist train/bus that loops around the area and into the local small town we took that from 5 mins outside the hotel and back again. It is a nice travel as it I smack open carriges with the wind blowing through. It is approx hour to albuferia. We didn't go. If you want to just relax and like walking this may be for you but if you want to be close to bars restaurants and busy areas this may not be for you. Nice apartments slightly remote cold pool. Beautiful beaches

My partner & I found a good deal staying here during Christmas with jet2 holidays. We had, had a very stressful couple of months and decided we just wanted a quiet week away in the warm sun, and we weren't disappointed. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by the very friendly reception staff, given information and our room key card. We had booked a one bedroomed self-catering apartment and had a side sea view. Our apartment was very spacious and clean with a large balcony, and we had everything we needed. Good sized bedroom with extremely comfortable beds, bathroom with bath/ shower & bidet and a large lounge with kitchen. Yes, these apartments are in a very quiet area/ village, with a handful of restaurants in the vicinity and the lovely beaches only a short stroll away, but this is what we wanted. Lots of places nearby were closed for the xmas period, but there is a large "intermarche" supermarket within walking distance which supplied everything we required for our self-catering stay. All the staff here were very helpful and friendly & made us feel welcomed. I have health issues and can't walk long distances, so we hired mobility scooters from a company in Albufeira that delivered them to our apartment. These were ideal for us to get around, especially into the nearby town which is a little more lively. We had a wonderful relaxing stay here, the large outdoor pool and sunbeds were open, but as it was December, the pool was too cold to utilise. There is a little snack bar/ cafe adjoined- ," The sweet stop" but I'm gluten free and the menu was very limited so sadly we didn't use. There is a couple of Indian restaurants in the local area, we visited both, excellent food. Our only negative about these apartments was that after a few quiet days there, more people arrived in the apartments around us, both with loud young children/ babies. The walls were very thin, and we could hear everyone around us. Maybe in full season noise maybe an issue here? But all in all we loved our quiet, relaxing week at the Ukino . Would stay here again.

The Ukino Terrace apartments are very spacious with most things you need for a self catering holiday. But , and it’s a BIG But, its location is very isolated. The nearest shop is a good half- mile hike up a steep hill and unless you hired a car you were stuck. A small bar and two restaurants were in the same location . Up the hill, and if you’re not a teenager you felt very remote. The day before our flight We were notified by Jet2 that the swimming pool was out of action, being maintained, the alternative hotel offered was an extra £350 so didn’t bother moving . The Ukino is in a residential area and with temperatures in early 20’s a winter sun holiday was anticipated. Temperatures dropped to single figures in the evenings and with nothing to do we found hiring taxis to Albufeira old town , Algarve shopping centres and marina our only source of entertainment. There are plenty better locations in the Algarve and I’d go elsewhere unless you like walking . We were half board and the restaurant is 100m away , food was edible but little choice , all in all we felt the skeleton staff kept on for the 6/7 couples staying here were friendly and courteous

I’ve just returned from Ukina Terrace,and feel I really must emphasise how isolated this place is. The apartments themselves are roomy and clean and the beds are comfy and lashings of very hot water available, the kitchen is well equipped with lovely stainless steel saucepans, but I’m afraid that can’t make up for the fact you feel rather cut off from everything. The nearest shop is quite a walk up a 30% gradient hill , so you can’t just nip out for any bits of shopping you may need, there is no shop attached to the apartments which seems a bit strange considering they are self catering units. There is a local bus which again is a bit of a walk to get to , in fact everything is a bit of a walk to get to . You don’t get that holiday vibe it’s more like a residential area . There are one or two eating places again a good walk away uphill of course. I am in no way slating the apartments or staff at all , if anything I feel that Jet 2 or whoever you traveled with don’t make it clear enough about the location , you really need to hire a car to go anywhere. I’m so glad I have the Uber app on my phone and it was my saving grace in getting around. We tried the local bus to Alberfuria it drops you at the bus station again in the middle of nowhere and you have to get another bus to the old town so two lots of bus fare and frustration! I found an Uber was as cheap if not cheaper .The surrounding area Porches is very pretty but it’s not enough to sustain you for a weeks holiday , you need to be able to go somewhere and you just can’t. I wished I’d taken more notice of some of the tip advisor views but you know how it is you think it will be ok , but honestly for older less mobile people like myself it really is not the place for you.
