Hotels and accommodation in Can Pastilla

Cala Estancia is located 6.83 miles away from east of Palma, between Calo de Son Caios and Club Maritimo Sant Antoni of the beach. This beach is fully integrated in the village with the same name, and the limits are mixed to the nearby residential and touristic area of Can Pastilla, and it is imperceptible for the visitor to see where both areas begin or finish. Next to this sandy area there are located many mass tourism hotels, which are the characteristic of this part of the coast. This large beach has fine grained white sand. On both sides there are breakwaters which direct the arrival of the sea toward the coast and this is why Cala Estancia becomes a sort of natural swimming basin, with no more than 9.84 feet of depth and a very gentle slope. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs. There is also a bus stop nearby. The proximity to s`Arenal, the biggest beach of Majorca, explains the massive influx of tourists and the difficulty to find a place to park the car during the summer season.

El Calo de Son Caios is located 6. 21 miles away from east of Palma, next to Can Pastilla, mostly inhabited by workers of the hotel industry and families who chose to live on the outskirts of Palma. The beach was name after an old farm house that used to be situated in the surroundings. There is a rocky coast with fine grained golden sand, low depth water with the ground full of rocks covered by seaweed. That’s explains why it is not possible to anchor boats here. The navigators should avoid the route between Isla de Sa Galera and the coast. The natural conditions explain why this beach is not very attractive to swim or sunbathe. This beach is mostly visited by local people and it is usual to see some boats tied up by a chain and left by the beach for the whole year.

Es Carnatge (as in bait in English) is located at 5. 59 miles away from Palma, between Cala Pudent and Cova des Bufador. Place named after the activity of skinning the animals at the end of the 19th century. Using the skin of animals (for many different reasons) while the bones for the elaboration of soap.This coastal corner presents a rocky cliff of small height and fossil beaches of quaternary origin, with an enormous scientific value. This is why the four hectares at Es Carnatge were declared Natural Area of Special Interest. It is a small area with huge geological and paleontological interest of the pleistocenus. The deposits of fossil fauna have allowed climatic and geological studies of Majorca. This rocky and isolated area has an excellent panoramic view over the bay of Palma, and a marine ground with a huge biological diversity, although bathing is not possible. If you want to swim, you can choose between the nearby beaches of Ciutat Jardí (on the west) or Cala Estancia (on the east).
