Cala Gamba is located 5. 59 miles east of Palma. This sea inlet is a small sheltered bay, with some rocks and some coarse grained greyish sand. The ground is rocky, with some vegetation on it and not very deep. This is why diving is recommended. Es Carnatge (“bait” in English) is the landscape between Cala Gamba and Can Pastilla. The name of this Natural Area (four hectares) was giving after the activity performed here until the end of the 19th century: skinning the corpse of the animals, using the skin for different reasons and the bones for the elaboration of soap. In front of this area we can see the small island of Sa Galera, where there is one of the few leather shops in Majorca.Because of this beach`s situation and exposure to winds, you must pay attention to weather conditions that make swimming unadvisable.For health and safety reasons, the municipal ordinances ban pets on beaches.

The Bellver Castle is located 1. 86 miles away from the historic centre of Palma de Mallorca, on the hill of Bellver, more than 328.08 feet above sea level. . It is a Gothic style castle that was built in the 14th century, at the request of King James II of Mallorca as a symbol of his power. It is the only circular castle in Europe. Used as a military prison until the 20th century.

Ciutat Jardí is situated at 3. 10 miles east from Palma, next to Fortí Torre d`en Pau, a construction which was finished in 1898 in order to defend the bay of Palma from a possible attack by the United States because of the Cuba`s war.The name comes from one of the developers who wanted to build a luxury style touristic resort nearby Palma at the end of the 20th century, and in 1922 opens the Ciudad Jardín Hotel, in neoarab modernist style, which is still operating.The beach is sandy, with little waves, gentle slope and it has on both sides some breakwaters with cylindrical position towers. About 328 feet you will see in the water some sheltering breakwaters which reduce the swell.This sandy area has a massive influx of families and tourists. The most attractive is the easy accessibility and the very good bathing conditions for small children. You can park for free near the beach. There is a nearby bus stop and a cycling lane.The water of Ciutat Jardí is good for anchoring if the navigator keeps a reasonable distance from the coast because it is not very deep.

The Peñon is situated about 5. 59 miles away from east Palma, between Ciutat Jardin Beach and Punta de Sa Torre, and opposite to the military club Forti Tower d`en Pau, construction that was finished in 1898 in order to defend the bay of Palma from a possible attack by the United States because of the Cuba`s war. Nowadays the surroundings belong to the municipality and there are used as a public park. This beach is a small fine grained sandy area, with gentle slope and little swell. Next to the natural breakwater on the eastern side, which closes the beach, there is the Gypsum quarry (Descarregador de Guix). This rocky headland was used as a quarry during the 19th and 20th century. Nowadays there is a restaurant. This sandy area is mostly visited by families. It is very accessible and there are good bathing conditions for small children. From el Peñon you can reach the nearby Ciutat Jardin beach on foot, between both beaches there is only a very small headland, sa Paret Blanca. You can park your car for free near the beach. There are nearby bus stops and a cycling lane.
