“December in Malaga”

Hotel Astoria is located close to the last station of C1 train, which goes to the ariport. It is also a good point to start exploring the center of Malaga. During our stay we had a nice experience. The staff was friendly, the breakfast was good, the room was clean.

This hotel, is a budget hotel and price is too expensive, for the amenities and location. Rooms were modern and clean but there was no tea/coffee facilities and nowhere near to pop out and buy one. This hotel, is a budget hotel and price is too expensive, for the amenities and location. Rooms were modern and clean but there was no tea/coffee facilities and nowhere near to pop out and buy one. No bar at the hotel. Although the rooms were modern , when we pulled our curtains, we had a view, equivalent to what you could expect from a prison cell. Basically a concrete stairwell, allowing no light, or air. The hotel is conveniently situated near the train station but not as close, as suggested to the “old town “ and beach. The area itself around the hotel, has nothing, in restaurants or bars.

“Meh”

Well, the location is brilliant - station just across the road and 11 minutes later you're at the airport. The staff (well, receptionist) was also very helpful. But it's one of this big ugly purpose-built places with just reception, some rooms, and a breakfast room. No bar, restaurant or anything. … more

Well, the location is brilliant - station just across the road and 11 minutes later you're at the airport. The staff (well, receptionist) was also very helpful. But it's one of this big ugly purpose-built places with just reception, some rooms, and a breakfast room. No bar, restaurant or anything. Facilities were OK but there was NO tea/coffee in the room!! OK if there's a machine somewhere or a bar, but.... Admittedly we booked last minute but 150euros for one night with no breakfast is WAY too expensive for what is essentially a budget hotel.

“Lacking in value”

The hotel overlooks a dry river bed which does not add to its appeal. Bed and bathroom good but bedroom quite small. The balcony which we paid extra for was so small and such a funny shape that it was difficult for two of us to sit on. Not worth the money. The breakfast room is also quite small… more

The hotel overlooks a dry river bed which does not add to its appeal. Bed and bathroom good but bedroom quite small. The balcony which we paid extra for was so small and such a funny shape that it was difficult for two of us to sit on. Not worth the money. The breakfast room is also quite small and noisy when full. It has no windows which makes it feel claustrophobic. There is no Coffee Shop in the hotel and the rooms have no tea/coffee provision. Although we were out most of the day it would have been nice to be able to make a cup of tea when we returned late afternoon before going out again in the evening. Unfortunately there was nothing around the hotel to make up for this. The one thing that it has in its favour is that it is close to the metro which goes to and from the airport. A nice hotel spoiled by lack of thought.
