Breakfast and departure to visit the Berber village of Zriba Olia, three hundred metres above sea level. Afterwards, we'll head to El Djem to visit the Roman Amphitheatre, the second largest in the world after Rome. Lunch. Afterwards, we'll head to the Berber village of Matmata, where we'll spend the night at a quirky hotel, similar to the real troglodyte houses in the village. Arrival, dinner and overnight stay.

Breakfast and departure to discover Berber culture in Tataouine, the capital of the Berber region in southern Tunisia. The Berbers, originally from the country, lived there before any other civilisation arrived and began to invade their regions, and they used the southern and central areas to escape the Romans, the Carthaginians, the Arabs, and others. They mostly chose remote areas and high-altitude locations, where they built their rooms, usually on the ground and in a strategic location from which they could see their attackers approaching. There are about 150 Berber ksars between Matmata, Tataouine and Chenini. Ksars, plural of Ksar, is what the Berbers called their homes. Most of these sites are only accessible by ATV, as they're perched on ridges like Chenini's ksars or hillsides like Old Guermassa. Some of these ksars were even used as locations in the Star Wars films, such as Ksar Haddada, which consists of 380 ghorfas (rooms) located on the same level. After lunch at a local restaurant in Tataouine, we'll head to Djerba. Arrival, dinner and overnight stay.
Djerba - Guellala - Djerba

Breakfast and departure to visit the Berber village of Guellala, from the Berber name Iquallalen, which means potters. It's famous for pottery, a centuries-old activity that defines the main economic base of locals to this day. After lunch, we'll make the move to a different culture located in Djerba, and equally significant for its history, in the Jewish quarter, whose centre is the El Ghriba Synagogue, located in the town of Erriadh. There used to be twenty synagogues in Erriadh, one of which is today a place of pilgrimage for many visitors from around the world. The synagogue is a modest building from the outside, but it has a fascinating interior, richly decorated with colourful windows and tiles and authentic, well-preserved furniture. It's fascinating to know that today Djerba is home to around 1,400 Jews, who live in harmony on the island together with Muslims, all sharing Tunisian heritage. Once the visit is over, return journey to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
Djerba - Kairouan - Tunisia

Breakfast and departure to Kairouan, the capital of Islam in Tunisia. The visit will begin with the Great Mosque of Kairouan, located in the middle of the Medina. The site attracts thousands of local and international visitors thanks to its magnificent architectural and spiritual value. After a stroll through the Medina of Kairouan and a glimpse at local life, a tasting of freshly made Tunisian pastries, and a few authentic rugs, we'll head to the Mausoleum of Sidi Sahib. This complex is located outside the Medina, on the site of the tomb of one of the Prophet's companions, Abu Zama'a al-Balawi, known as Sidi Sahib. It includes a mausoleum, a madrasah, and several rooms. The mausoleum is popular and locals visit frequently for blessings, ceremonies, and religious festivities. At the end of the afternoon, return journey to Tunis. Dinner and overnight stay.
