Breakfast at the hotel. Today we'll visit the Sugarloaf Mountain, almost 400 metres above sea level. The first cable car runs the top of Urca Hill, with spectacular views of the entire bay and its neighbouring islands. From Morro da Urca, we take a second cable car to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain, which rises 395 metres above sea level, with a 360-degree view of the entire city. This tour also includes panoramic views of the beaches of the southern zone of Rio de Janeiro. Return journey to the hotel. Accommodation.

Rio de Janeiro - Iguazú Falls

The Iguazu Falls, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the new seven wonders of the world, is one of the most famous attractions in the whole of Brazil. Shared with Argentina, this natural phenomenon never fails to amaze visitors with its 275 waterfalls. Accommodation.

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, departure to see the Argentinian side of the Iguazu Falls. Transport inside the park is on an ecological train with various stops visiting the key attractions. The Argentinian side of the falls has three spectacular routes that command different visions of this wonder of nature. The first stop is Cataratas Station, from where we can visit the upper circuit or stroll around the lower circuit. Another visit in the park is the Garganta del Diablo, where after crossing a one-kilometre walkway over the river we'll get up close to this gigantic waterfall. In the afternoon, we'll visit the Brazilian side of the Iguazu Falls. After passing through the Visitor Centre, we'll continue on the route that takes us to the magnificent Iguazu Falls. We'll arrive at the Mirador de las Cataratas viewpoint, from where we'll set off on a gentle walk of approximately 1,200 metre. During the hike, we'll get to enjoy panoramic views of the different waterfalls and then a fantastic perspective of the Garganta del Diablo. The walk ends at the top of the falls. where there's a spectacular viewpoint with a panoramic view of the upper Iguazu River. Return journey to the hotel. Accommodation.

In the afternoon we take a short canoe trip through the Igapós (annually flooded forest) and small streams to explore life in the floodplains and perhaps see monkeys and sloths. Late afternoon piranha fishing and sunset watching. Dinner and overnight stay.

Departure for a jungle walk with a specialised guide, where we'll be able to walk among large trees and breathe the pure air of the land, as well as obtain information about the flora and fauna of this wonderful region. We'll also visit the house of a native where you'll be able to see how the riverside families live and learn about their customs and traditions. This group of people usually make their living by planting cassava and preparing the famous manioc flour. They are called ‘caboclos’ (a mixture of white and Amazonian Indians). The history of the Amazonian population and the rubber cycle is explained there. Lunch and after some time to rest, visit to the community of Acajatuba where the local population lives from the sowing of manioc, fishing, fruits of the region such as tucumã, cupuaçu, açaí, rubber and Brazil nuts. Farewell dinner in the evening and guided tour to see Jacarés and a glimpse of a world of night-time activities. You can see frogs, snakes, nocturnal caimans, which are more active at night, so they're easier to see. The guide uses a torch to find alligators, as well as smaller creatures in the water and trees. The first ever capital of Brazil is a wonderfully special place, with fantastic beaches, cuisine and history. We'll learn a little about this history, which today still heavily features music, songs and dances that were brought over by African immigrants. Salvador oozes an energy and beauty that few cities can match, while its people and music make it truly unique. We'll have a great time in the city. Accommodation.

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, we'll set off on a sightseeing tour to see some of the most important places in the history of Brazil. We'll start off at Faro da Barra, which was the first lighthouse in South America (1698) and today is a popular meeting place for locals to admire the sunset. We'll then head to the Cidade Alta (Upper City), passing through the Corredor da Vitoria (where there are still mansions from the colonial era) and the neighbourhoods of Campo Grande and Piedade. In the Upper City, we'll stroll along the cobblestone streets of El Pelourinho to visit some of the most stunning churches in the city, such as São Francisco de Assis and Nossa Senhora Rosário dos Pretos (admission not included). We'll end this part of the visit in the historic Pelourinho quarter, with a chance to pop into the fascinating Casa de Jorge Amado Foundation. After this, we'll walk to the Elevador Lacerda observation point, which commands stunning views over the Cidade Baixa (Lower City) and Todos os Santos Bay. Return to hotel. Rest of the day free. We recommend the evening 'Balé Folclórico da Bahia' show (Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, not included). Accommodation.

- Triple rooms in Brazil are generally rooms with twin beds or a double, in which a folding bed is installed to accommodate the third person. Due to the inconvenience this causes, we advise against using this option as far the possible.

- During congresses and special events, the confirmed hotels and other accommodations may be different to those indicated.

- Check-in time at the hotel on the day of arrival depends on each establishment, but in no case will it be before 3:00 p.m., unless otherwise indicated.
